Experience

Production Lead - The Museum
FNTech @ Meta

December 2020 - Present

As the Production Lead for The Museum Event Center, I act as Technical Director and a Producer for incoming events, working with clients to create their event vision all the way from the initial planning stages all the way through the show itself, creating any documentation that will be necessary to execute the event at the highest possible production level. These events are often very high profile, frequently working with talent that includes C-level executives and external celebrities. Additionally, I oversee all staffing and training of technicians in the space across lighting, audio, video, and stage management. Upon returning to the office in early 2022, working with the venue Director, we developed new workflows for improving the in-room experience for attendees, while maintaining the high standard of broadcast and streaming production developed during two years of virtual shows and working from home. Having started my time with FNTech and The Museum as the resident Lighting Designer and quickly moving into this leadership role, and given my non-traditional background for corporate events, I have a unique perspective on how to bring the high production value of my past experience to this space and have delivered on a multitude of extremely high profile events.

Automation Lead
Marvel Universe Live

June 2018 - March 2020

As Automation Lead for Marvel Universe Live, I was responsible for the safe operation, installation, inspection, and maintenance of all automated equipment related to scenery and performer flying. Week to week, the show would load in, run between five and ten shows, and load out, with a daily inspection of all winches, fly tracks, flight hardware and harnesses, all completed without incident and to the highest possible standards, as safety needs to be the number one consideration when dealing with automation. I was with the show for both the domestic and international tour, traveling all over the continental US, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and South Africa. Additionally while in this role, I supported the automation team on Jurassic World Live, building the automation system and department during creation of the show.

Operations Supervisor, Production
California’s Great America

March 2015 - June 2018

As Operations Supervisor of Production, I was the acting production manager for all shows, haunted houses, Winterfest attractions, and festivals produced completely in house by the technical crew and creative staff. I oversaw each of these productions from initial planning, budgeting, and staffing, through the design and build process, all the way through opening and close of the show, acting as a scenic or lighting designer as needed for larger productions. I was responsible for managing all technical needs, including lighting, audio, video, scenic construction, painting, props creation, rigging, automation, and special effects, and I structured a department from the ground up to support the responsibilities of my department and of live entertainment as a whole at the park.

Lighting Director
Starting Arts

May 2014 - November 2015

As Lighting Director, I was responsible for making sure all the Lighting Designers working for the company were prepared for their respective shows. Starting Arts ran shows in various venues throughout the San Jose area, ranging from school auditoriums to theaters with a full fly system and everything in between, and as a result, the lighting needs for each venue and the skill needs for Lighting Designers each week were different. I managed and maintained the technical inventory, and would go onsite with other Lighting Designers the week of show as needed to assist with creative or technical difficulties each had, all while designing my own show that week, often whatever was the most challenging production.

Various Positions
Freelance

2014 - Current

While freelancing, I have worked across most technical disciplines, including audio, video, lighting, carpentry, rigging, SFX, and production management. This varied experience has given me a lot of perspective about the workflows and needs of different departments, and how to help them all work more cohesively.
